We consider protection of the global environment as one of our important issues corporations should address as important as our business philosophy like product quality improvement and cost performance.
We make effort every day to protect the global environment with focusing the following points.

Our activities

Solvent treatment

Solvents are essential to our manufacturing process. In order to apply resins to films, they must be melted and liquefied. During such liquids form layers, organic solvents are released into the atmosphere, and cause chain reactions in the troposphere, and finally cause air pollution called photochemical oxidants.
At Nikka Techno, we use platinum catalysts to deodorize organic solvents and turn them into clean air. We believe that consideration for the environment is essential because waste is always generated during production.

Transition to semi recycling

The hot stamping foils we handle use PET films made from pure PET material, and become waste after processing. With the need to reduce plastic waste, we are working to reuse films.
Portions of the films are extracted and put back into PET chips, which is then given to film manufacturers for reuse. At this stage, this is a joint effort with other companies (semi recycling), but in the future we are aiming for complete recycling in which the films we use will be returned and reused within us.

Activities for SDGs

We support activities for SDGs, have a high level of environmental awareness, and actively take on the challenge of responsible corporate behavior, including activities for decarbonization and carbon neutrality and also the promotion of health management.
In order to strengthen our efforts to reduce plastic waste, we boldly take on the challenge of becoming a leading company in the industry by breaking away from non-recycling schemes and aiming to build a complete recycling scheme.

Recycling of industrial waste

In cooperation with Kyoto Environmental Preservation Public Corporation, we collect waste films and other materials generated in house, convert them into solid fuel (RPF), and reuse them as fuel for power generation boilers.
By improving overall energy efficiency and reducing fossil fuel consumption, it is also effective in preventing global warming by reducing CO2 emissions.

Prohibition of the use of substances that may generate dioxins

Measures against VOC: VOC means “Volatile Organic Compounds”, and WHO defines it as the general term of organic compounds that the boiling points are 50 - 260 degrees Celsius and exist as gas in the atmosphere. These involve the generation of suspended particulate matters and oxidants that are main causative substances of photochemistry air pollution.
